Russia have moved on to deny owning the plane loaded with arms and bullet proof vests.
The supposed Russian plane was intercepted early Sunday morning after it became faulty at the Kano International airport
According to several reports, the plane was enroute Chad from Russia as rumours continue to gather momentum that Chad is allegedly one of Boko Haram's sponsors.
The Russian government through its embassy in Nigeria have however denied owning the plane.
They tweeted:
"According to the information of the Embassy, the detained in Kano plane, allegedly carrying military hardware on board, is not Russian."
The Nigerian military tweeted via its handle [@DefenceInfoNG].
“Investigation is ongoing to determine the content and origin of the aircraft. Further details will be made as soon as the investigation is completed.”
