An explosion suspected to be caused by gas has this evening hit Arakale road in Akure and according to eyewitnesses, many people are feared dead.

The explosive fire reportedly started at a gas station then quickly spread out to nearby houses as emergency service were yet to arrive the scene.

It is understood that the fire has been burning for hours but nothing has been done.
