77-year-old Pope Francis has sparked controversy by claiming animals also go to heaven.

The Pope said this while delivering his weekly address in the Vatican’s St. Peter’s Square that canines, along with “all of God’s creatures,” can make it to heaven.

The leader of the Catholic Church made the remark in order to comfort a young boy who was mourning the death of his dog, according to the New York Times.He said

“One day we will see our animals again in eternity of Christ. Paradise is open to all God’s creatures.”

The question being asked now is, if they go to heaven, do they also go to hell? Example, those dogs who attacked the little boy in Lagos and ate his flesh.
