Two Children Burnt To Death While Mother Went To Confront Lover Who Abandoned Her

A heart-broken mother who went out to confront her lover to know why he abandoned her returned home to realize her two children had died in a fire accident.

The tragedy happened in their apartment at Kabong area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to reports, the children aged 2 and 4, were said to have been locked in a room by their mother, Talatu, who runs a local beer palour in the area.

As the day's sales was over, Talatu closed her shop and set out to see her fiance who abandoned her for another woman. When she returned around 2a.m, she met her house burnt.

A neighbour who preferred to be anonymous said:

“Talatu abandoned the children in her room and went to confront her fiance, who had suddenly picked another lady to marry.

“She lit a candle before leaving. But before she returned, the candle had burnt low and lit the mattress. The children got burnt without anyone knowing.”

One of the children died instantly while the other who was rushed to the hospital also gave up the ghost.
