Reports and photos just reaching us has it that Youth Corp members serving in Rivers state are currently staging a protest at the NYSC Rivers camp.

It is understood that the corpers are angry over non-payment of their allowance (allowee).

Reports says that the corpers have prevented entries through the NYSC camp's gate and our sources have revealed that the military personnel stationed there are completely in support of the protest.

Speaking anonymously to our source, one of the military personnel said:

"It is unfair for the corpers to serve without being paid their allowee. This is the little thing that keeps them alive. Most of them are independent, they survive in this camp with the support of their parents or relatives so we are really sad that they are treated like this".

Let's hope the concerned bodies get to see these photos and do something about it.
